Two Decades of Retaliation and Abuse: My Fight for Healthcare, Safety, and Freedom in Minnesota
Since 2007, I have reported ongoing retaliation by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) for questioning their compliance in processing my medical insurance application and HBCB waiver insurance coverage. For more than two decades, my pleas have gone unheard. In that time, my life has been systematically dismantled. I have been strategically placed on welfare—denied medical treatment, disability support, and basic human rights—while my body deteriorates permanently. This has been done deliberately, to control, silence, and torture me into submission.
Three generations of my family have been destroyed as a direct result of this corruption. While I was enrolled in Medicaid PMAP and HBCB, DHS has illegally blocked my access to healthcare and pocketed funds intended for my treatment and care. When I finally escaped after 17 years of maltreatment, I was hunted across the nation.
Since then, I have been exposed to every form of violence, including sexual violence, and I am now enduring ongoing sexual harassment inside uninhabitable housing—a clear act of retaliation for my 2020 escape and continued advocacy.
DHS employees are trained to violate the law, and whistleblowers face retaliation, making genuine allies nearly impossible to find. Despite overwhelming evidence proving that it is the State of Minnesota’s systemic misconduct that has made and continues to keep me sick, the abuse continues unchecked.
I have fought for justice for decades. I have documented every step, every act of retaliation, and every instance of neglect. Yet, I remain trapped in this cycle of state-sponsored harm.
What will it take for rescue and accountability to finally come?
