Fraud exists in the Energy Assistance Program — not just in my case, but many others. It’s the malicious behavior of oversight agencies that publish evidence of funds leaving the system when they shouldn’t, yet neglect to report on the benefits that should be reaching the community but don’t, all because of fraud committed by their own employees.
In fact, every government agency I know of makes it incredibly easy to report fraud committed by citizens, yet they place countless barriers in front of documenting, officially reporting, and resolving fraud that occurs within government agencies by government employees. No one outside the government has the access or capacity to commit the level of fraud that employees and administrators can orchestrate from the inside as employees. Yet it feels that disappearing money doesn't matter and the injuries to the people that are the targets of those fraudulent acts doesn't matter to anyone but them, the victims.
Government fraud is a huge problem, yet the government refuses to address it. At this point, it’s clear we need a completely new kind of government — one that acknowledges the reality: Presidents can be felons, police officers can be killers, and government employees can run crime rings inside the system. And when that happens, they need to be held accountable.
If you fail to follow regulations, fail to correct your regulation violations when they are pointed out to you or fail to enforce regulations on agencies when unrepentant misconduct is reported, then you are a criminal. Period.
Minnesota Valley Action Council and Two Years of Ongoing Health Problems Because of Their Fraud
Because of my remote location in a sundown town, I have had no access to medical treatment in the state of Minnesota since 2022. It is not a matter of insurance — it is a matter of racism. Callous and criminal individuals continue to act as though this situation is impossible, even though they know it is commonplace for millions of African American women, not just me.
The only solution to the severity of this racism in Minnesota is to leave the state entirely. I have a preexisting progressive disability, one the state governor publicly acknowledges as serious every year, yet I have no access to treatment or disability support. No one has been held accountable despite my repeated reports of misconduct.
Because of this chronic systemic abuse, I have suffered from untreated Stage II hypertension since 2017, leaving me at daily risk of a stroke. The continued denial of clinical treatment, combined with the lack of a safe or therapeutic environment — and the absence of laws to protect me from medical neglect — has led to increasing, uncontrollable episodes of unconsciousness almost daily since 2023.
While living in this sundown town, I have faced further racist crimes through the Minnesota Valley Action Council, which illegally forced me into a mold-infested home without hot water or heat from August to December 2023. This exposure caused lasting damage to my lungs. I now experience shortness of breath, a persistent cough that worsens my disability, heart palpitations with minimal movement, lightheadedness, and headaches when walking even two blocks. I cough up fluids daily.
By December 2024, I began showing signs of skin cancer on my feet, and by April 2025, I developed a painful lump in my chest. Despite these worsening conditions, I still have no access to medical treatment.
Nothing has been done to hold the Minnesota Valley Action Council accountable. They continue to illegally refuse to process multiple Energy Assistance applications, wrongfully barring me from benefits I have long been eligible for — including right now.
